Israel strikes Southern Lebanon despite ceasefire as tensions rise

Israel has carried out air strikes on Nabatieh in Southern Lebanon despite a US-brokered ceasefire agreement intended to end hostilities.

The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah sites, while Lebanese civil defence teams reported difficulties accessing the strike area because of continued bombardment. Military activity has continued across Southern Lebanon, raising questions about the durability of the ceasefire and whether Hezbollah will respond.
