Probe into Ratanda police shootings: Panyaza Lesufi weighs in

The two Ratanda families who lost their sons during the violent water-related protests have appealed to government, the SAPS and IPID to prioritise investigations into how their family members died.

The Gauteng Premier and other government officials visited the families to extend their condolences, apologise for the unfortunate incident and offer support.

Government gave assurance that it will give the bereaved families preliminary reports on Wednesday on what happened to their loved ones.

23-year-old Katleho Mokoena and 39-year-old Sipho Motaung were allegedly shot and killed by police during the past week's protests over a lack of potable water in Ratanda.
