Kylian Mbappe scored a late winner from the penalty spot as France beat Paraguay 1-NIL in Philadelphia in the United States to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco had earlier scored three second half-goals in Houston to end co-hosts, Canada's run and become the first nation to reach the last eight of the tournament.
