IPID intensifies hunt for two remaining suspects in R15m Killarney gem heist

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) is continuing its search for two more suspects, in connection with the alleged theft of precious metals and stones worth R14 million.

This is after an Ekurhuleni Metro Police official was arrested on Friday night. IPID is now on the trail of a business man, and another suspect.

The arrests follow explosive testimony before the Madlanga Commission, where Witness K alleged she, and suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi, plotted the theft in an apartment in Killarney, Johanneburg in 2023.
