Indlela Ibuzwa Kwabaphambili, "The path is asked from those who have gone before", is a deeply rooted exploration of how African, and specifically isiXhosa ways of knowing can guide us through the present and into the future.

Grounded in de-colonial thinking and indigenous idioms, the exhibition invites viewers to look back to ancestral knowledge systems, practices and visual languages as living resources that continue to evolve, rather than relics of the past.

The artist transforms a humble, rural substance into a powerful visual language.

In doing so, the exhibition opens up other ways of knowing that challenge dominant Western art histories and honours creativity that emerges from everyday practices, land and memory.

We are now joined by the artist, Mawande Ka Zenzile for his 11th solo exhibition.
