Nkosi had earlier appealed for calm, urging frustrated residents to refrain from barricading roads as negotiations with Rand Water continue. Weeks of dry taps in Heidelberg, southeast of Johannesburg, have sparked a major service delivery protest that has entered its third day. Nkosi has assured residents that the municipality will deploy water tankers to affected communities that have endured three weeks without water.
