Sony announces it's killing physical media | ABC NEWS Loop

Sony has announced it will completely stop the production and sale of physical discs for the PlayStation.

From 2028 gamers will still be able to buy a physical box - but all it will contain is a code to download the game digitally.

Fans worry that the move is an effort to stamp out the second hand market and sharing games with friends - something Sony famously mocked it's competitor Microsoft for back in 2013.
