Informal settlement dwellers in Lusikisiki displaced

Informal settlement dwellers in Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape have accused the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality of demolishing their homes despite being in possession of a court order.

They say they have lived in Skiti informal settlement for over four decades and were promised housing by the municipality.

Over a week ago, the Ingquza Hill Municipality destroyed dozens of shacks and mud houses leaving scores of people homeless.
