Makgotloe Case | State closes its case in bail application

The state has closed its case in the bail application of veteran ballistic expert, Laurence Makgotloe. State forensic and ballistic expert, Captain Kagiso Banda, testified that errors attributed to Makgotloe could have seriously compromised the Armand Swart murder case, as well as other high-profile matters. They could potentially have led to the release of accused persons had they gone undetected. Makgotloe faces two counts of being an accessory after the fact to murder, and one count of illegal possession of ammunition. The court has since upgraded some of the charges to Schedule 5 offences.
