Poet Thandiwe Nqanda blends her work with jazz

Thandiwe Nqanda is a highly acclaimed South African poet and author. Her debut poetry collection, "No, Time to Mourn", serves as a profound, exploratory body of work examining grief, memory, healing, and love.

Her work blends the emotional weight of poetry with live music—particularly jazz. In addition to her poetry, she co-wrote the theatrical production Grieve, That Is How You Survive, which premiered at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda in 2023.
