Does the Joe Sibanyoni case expose dangers facing prosecutors and what can communities do when municipalities fail?
The National Prosecuting Authority has laid a complaint against the Kwaggafontein magistrate in the Joe Sibanyoni extortion and money-laundering matter. Last week, Magistrate Tuletu Tonjeni struck the case against North West businessman, Sibanyoni and three others off the court roll because prosecutor, Mkhuseli Ntaba was a no-show. She held him in contempt of court, and issued a warrant for his arrest. The NPA suspended him in response.
