Madlanga Commission | Cat Matlala is a central figure in the Commission's inquiry

Madlanga Commission spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, has confirmed that alleged crime kingpin, Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala, has been subpoenaed to appear before the inquiry on Tuesday.
Matlala is a key witness in the controversial Medicare24 SAPS tender, in which high-ranking police officers are implicated, including suspended SAPS National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola. His appearance comes after the Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court rejected his plea agreement with the NPA. The proposed deal would have seen Matlala serve an effective eight-year prison sentence.
