* Dina Pule has been sworn in as Social Development Minister, returning to Cabinet after previously serving in former President Jacob Zuma's administration. She has filled the vacancy left by Sisisi Tolashe.

* Lawyers for Crime Intelligence's Major-General Feroz Khan have invited the Madlanga Commission to hear Khan's testimony in hospital. He is apparently sedated and intubated after the weekend shooting in Johannesburg.

* The Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court has rejected the plea and sentence agreement between the state and defence in the corruption case against alleged crime kingpin, Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala. The magistrate rules that the 8-year jail sentence for Matlala is too lenient.

* Insizwa Nobunsizwa Development Foundation leader and founder, Nkosikhona Ndabandaba, has addressed speculation about his meeting with President Cyril Ramaphosa on the eve of yesterday's protests.

* The South African women's cricket team are aiming to reach the final of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup for the third time in a row. They play England in the second semi-final in London tomorrow evening.
