Government has lauded protesters for peaceful and orderly marches across the country as protests took place in all provinces against undocumented immigration.

Thousands of people took to the streets to express displeasure at the adverse effects that illegal immigration has on communities.

Groups demanded that all undocumented migrants leave the country. However, there were concerns that protests against undocumented foreign nationals could have a negative economic impact in South Africa.
