Poland has put pen to paper on a multi-billion-euro deal for three Swedish-built submarines. The agreement marks a major step in modernizing Poland's undersea fleet with the first vessel set to be delivered in 2030. Stockholm also plans to send an older model first, to fill in the gaps before the end of the decade.

- WILL UKRAINE’S PANTHEON OF HEROES FURTHER SPLIT WARSAW & KYIV?
“No one will ever dictate how we live... or which heroes we should honor.” That’s the message from Volodymyr Zelenskyy, revealing a draft law to establish a so-called National Pantheon to honor prominent Ukrainians. The move comes amid growing historical tensions between Warsaw and Kyiv over the naming of a military unit after the World War II-era Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), condemned in Poland for its 1940s massacre of Polish civilians.

- PUTIN ADMITS RUSSIA IS SHORT ON FUEL
Vladimir Putin says Russia is dealing with fuel shortages in his first admission detailing the impacts of Ukraine’s long-range strikes on his country’s energy infrastructure. Kyiv has repeatedly attacked the Kremlin’s oil refineries in recent weeks, hitting back at Moscow’s aerial assaults which have killed dozens of Ukrainian civilians.
