Enyobeni | Four years on after the tavern tragedy: Parent weighs in

Many of the families of the twenty-one young people who died at the Enyobeni tavern in Scenery Park, kuGompo City in the Eastern Cape are still battling to find closure, four years after the tragedy. The young people died on 26 June 2022. Their deaths caused public outrage, with many questioning authorities and the tavern owners for failing to ensure safety compliance - among other things. For further reflection on that fateful day, we are joined by a parent who lost his son in the tragedy, Khululekile Ncandana.
