Cosatu has rejected the 30 June Shutdown together with other civil society, business and faith-based organisations, saying it is an attempt to divide the poor and the working class. The groupings came together at an Online Rally organised by the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation today (27/06) under the banner, "Defend Democracy, Reject the Shutdown.". The event aims to provide a platform for a broad range of bodies to engage on the issues raised by the shutdown call and to voice alternative approaches to addressing the challenge of immigration in the country. Cosatu General Secretary Solly Phetoe made this remarks. To take the discussion forward, we are joined by Cosatu President, Zingiswa Losi.
