The Soweto Games get under way in Dube

The Soweto Games, a community driven sporting and development initiative, get under way today.

The event, lasting three weeks, was established to promote grassroots sport, development, social cohesion and healthy living in the country's biggest township.

It also covers a wide range of sporting codes and activities.
