*The body of a 25- year- old Malawian man who drowned in the Vaal River near Douglas in the Northern Cape has been retrieved.
He was the last of six farmworkers to be retrieved after a makeshift boat ferrying them across the Vaal River capsized, though 14 others survived the incident.

*The Limpopo provincial government and the Department of Education have launched a new online learner registration system.
The system is aimed at modernising and digitising school admissions in Limpopo.

*The deathtoll in Venezuela's two earthquakes have risen to above 900 as rescue teams race to find survivors nearly two days after the quakes.
172 people remained trapped, with 920 dead and 3,360 injured after the quakes devastated parts of Caracas and surrounding areas on Wednesday.
