Disbarred attorney Peet Viljoen remains in custody as bail hearing shifts to July 8

The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, the HAWKS, says the fraud probe into disbarred lawyer Peet Viljoen will continue.

Viljoen faces around 400 criminal charges, such as fraud, theft, corruption, forgery, uttering, and breaking the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act.

He is accused of fraudulently facilitating the sale of properties belonging to the Johannesburg Property Company in 2010.

On Friday, he appeared briefly in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court where his case was postponed to next month for bail a application.
