52nd National Arts Festival draws crowds to Makhanda

South African performing arts legend, Dr John Kani, is at the 52nd National Arts Festival, in Makhanda, where he is taking part in the Literature Festival.

Top writers are gathering to focus on preserving South African languages, and to help authors get their books onto shelves.

The festival is holding a masterclasses for young writers, and equipping them with basic skills on how to financially sustain themselves through their work.
