Judgment in the multimillion-rand Medicare24 fraud case involving Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala is expected to be delivered on Wednesday next week at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
Matlala has pleaded guilty to charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering linked to a R228 million SAPS contract awarded to his company Medicare24. He entered into a plea and sentencing agreement with the State.
Magistrate Ignatius du Preez says he still needs time to consider the proposed sentence and the evidence before the court before determining whether the agreement is fair and just.
