Following South Korea's 1-0 loss to South Africa at the World Cup on Wednesday (Jun 24), head coach Hong Myung-bo dismissed speculation that food poisoning had affected his team's performance.
"I don't want to put the blame on such a reason because it did not happen," he said. "Out of the three matches, we played the worst game today."
Hong also explained why captain Son Heung-min did not start the match, saying the team believed he would be "more effective in the later part of the match when the opponents were losing their energy." #southkoreanews #southkorea #FIFAWorldCup #WeAre26 #mediacorpFIFAWorldCup2026 #WeAreAllFans #football
