SA introduces draft AI regulation policy

We're joined now by Professor of Computer Science and Chair of Absa UP Data Science at the University of Pretoria, Vukosi Marivate, to unpack a major policy shift as government moves to regulate artificial intelligence in South Africa. The draft national AI policy approved by Cabinet on 25 March and now open for public comment until 10 June, aims to ensure AI development aligns with constitutional values while promoting inclusive economic growth.
