Vusi 'Cat' Matlala pleads guilty to all charges

The Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court has heard that alleged crime kingpin, Vusimuzi 'Cat' Matlala, has implicated higher ranking police officials in corruption, in exchange for a lesser jail time. The state and defence have agreed to a sentence of 15 years, of which 7 are suspended - meaning an effective 8 years behind bars. But, the court still has to rule on whether that is a just sentence. Matlala has pleaded guilty to all charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering relating to the R228-million SAPS-Medicare24 tender.
