A 21-year-old woman died during a bungee jump in Brazil after organizers allegedly failed to attach a safety rope before she was released from the platform, according to preliminary findings from investigators.

The incident took place on a bridge in the city of Limeira, in São Paulo, where the woman jumped from a height of around 40 meters. A video circulating on social media shows the moment she was released from the platform before plunging to the ground. Emergency services were called to the scene and attempted to save her, but she soon died from her injuries.

Brazilian police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and are examining whether negligence played a role. Authorities said six people connected to the bungee jumping organization were detained shortly after the incident. The inquiry remains ongoing.
