Madlanga Commission | Suliman Carrim unlikely to honour scheduled appearance

North West businessman, Suliman Carrim is unlikely to honour his scheduled appearance before the Madlanga Commission today.

SABC News understands that he was recently "admitted into a medical facility".

Carrim previously did not make his appearance before the probe in April after he was admitted to hospital.

The probe has tested Carrim on his alleged role in the R360m SAPS contract where alleged cartel member, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala sent a portion to Carrim, who then sent a third to Morgan Maumela - a businessman implicated in the Tembisa hospital corruption allegations.

The Commission's probe didn't stop there, as it zoomed further into alleged suspicious transactions in Carrim's own business dealings.

It remains to be seen whether Chief Evidence Leader, Adv. Matthew Chaskalson SC will employ the option of just reading the evidence into the record in Carrim's absence.

The hearings resume at 9:30am.
