S$200 in cash and FairPrice vouchers from the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and the Migrant Workers' Centre (MWC) will be made available to about 400 migrant workers who were abandoned and left with unpaid wages by employers KPA Engineering and SK Industries.
This was announced by NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng on Jun 24 during a visit to Tuas View Dormitory, where most of the affected workers are currently housed.
The visit came after more than 100 workers employed by the two companies turned up at the Ministry of Manpower’s services centre on Monday seeking help after months of unpaid salaries. #singapore #sgnews
