* The Zambian government has officially thrown in the towel after the Supreme Court of Appeal in South Africa ruled in favour of the family of the late Zambian President Edgar Lungu and upheld their appeal regarding his remains.

* The United Nations Security Council has unanimously adopted a resolution seeking to strengthen mechanisms for accountability for crimes against peacekeepers. At least 7 peacekeepers have been killed in 2026, all part of the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon where they were caught up in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
