On Thursday and Friday, Gdańsk in northern Poland will host the fifth Ukraine Reconstruction Conference. What will the country have to focus on first as soon as the guns fall silent?

“You will need to rebuild everything. I think, from the perspective of Ukrainian citizens, housing is going to be a priority. But then you have to reconstruct the infrastructure on which the country runs,” said TVP World’s Business Editor Jakub Kapiszewski, listing Internet, energy, and transport infrastructure as sectors where money will need to go immediately due to how crucial they are. “Because I'm afraid that when we talk about reconstructing Ukraine, we also talk about making it more resilient in case of peace falling apart in some distant future.”
