The victims, many in their 30s, all vanished weeks apart on a Thursday, and were found ten to fourteen days later. Residents believe this may be the work of a serial killer, who dumps the victims in the river. According to fourth quarter crime statistics, Rustenburg leads the province in murder cases, but ranks 15th nationwide.
