Phala Phala Saga | I'm not toeing party line in impeachment case: Thoko Didiza

National Assembly Speaker, Thoko Didiza, says she wants to dispel any notion that she is toeing the party line by abiding by the outcome of the Western Cape High Court in President Cyril Ramaphosa's urgent interdict application. He is asking the court to pause the work of the Impeachment Committee. Ramaphosa is asking the court for a stay on the section 89 committees processes until the review application of the Ngcobo independent panel report has been finalised in September. The Impeachment Committee is opposing this action, while Didiza is filing an explanatory affidavit alongside the committee's opposition papers, to assist the court in making its final determination.
