LGE 2026 | In conversation with IEC Provincial Electoral Officer in KZN Ntombifuthi Masinga

The IEC in KwaZulu-Natal says only 19 voting stations failed to open on time when voter registration kicked off in the province this morning.

Provincial Electoral Officer Ntombifuthi Masinga says the issues such as the late arrival of personnel, were however smoothed out which allowed all the affected stations to open for registration.

Masinga says 126 000 eligible voters in the province had turned up at voting stations by midday to check whether they were registered or not for the upcoming local government elections.
