Voter Registration | Masego Sheburi on first day of national voter registration weekend

The IEC has concluded the first day of the national voter registration weekend.

This Saturday and Sunday have been set aside for all eligible voters to go out and verify their details and register to vote in the 4th of November local government elections.

23 706 Voting stations across all municipal districts in the country have been opened since 8-AM to 5-PM on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the IEC, more than 39 million South Africans are eligible to vote but only 28 million are registered on the voters roll.
