Voter Registration | Gauteng residents register to vote

Residents across Gauteng visited voter registration stations as part of the first day of the IEC's voter registration weekend ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

From townships to suburban communities, residents queued to register and verify their details, with many saying they hope their vote will help bring meaningful change to their communities.

While some first-time voters expressed excitement about participating in the democratic process, others highlighted challenges such as unemployment, crime, poor service delivery and a lack of economic opportunities.
