Medicare24 irregular contract in the spotlight - Dennis Bloem weighs in

The Medicare 24 irregular contract case has intensified scrutiny on leadership and governance within the South African Police Service.

With many explosive revelations already made at the Madlanga Commission in the past few months since the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, held his briefing on the 6th of July 2025.

So much has also happened since then, including deeper allegations of the possible criminal infiltrations within the law enforcement agencies.

Later today, National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates' Court.

Masemola was summoned to the court by the National Prosecutions Authority in relation to the multi-million rand Medicare24 irregular tender linked to Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
