Draft National AI Policy withdrawn

The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies has withdrawn the Draft National Artificial Intelligence Policy that sparked public outcry amid flaws in its citations. A News24 investigation found that the document contained at least six academic references that did not exist as cited. The 86-page draft policy was gazetted by Communications Minister Solly Malatsi earlier this month for public comment but faced questions about its credibility.
