The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) is set to donate essential resources to 20 schools across the province as part of Nelson Mandela International Day celebrations.
In partnership with the Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg, the department will hand over items including water tanks, inverters and other critical components, to support schools struggling with basic services.
Several schools have had their water and electricity supply disrupted in recent months, due to unpaid bills.
Gauteng Education MEC Lebogang Maile will lead the official handover at Eqinisweni Secondary School.
