IEC ready for nationwide voter registration weekend

The Electoral Commission in the Eastern Cape says it is fully prepared for this weekend's voter registration drive ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections. The IEC says contingency measures have been put in place to ensure that registration stations remain operational and accessible in the areas that were affected by the flooding over the past month (May 2026).
