KZN Legislature | Mbali Shinga wins bid to halt removal

KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Development Mbali Shinga keeps her position in the NFP and in the provincial legislature, at least for now. The Pietermaritzburg High Court granted her an urgent order stopping the NFP's move to remove her from the legislature and replace her with party President Ivan Barnes. Shinga is challenging the party's decision to expel her after she defied an order to support an MK Party motion of no confidence in Premier Thami Ntuli last December.
