NFP Chairperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Mbali Shinga, has managed to block her removal as a member of the provincial legislature. The High Court in Pietermaritzburg has granted her an interim order, suspending her removal and preventing the swearing-in of NFP President, Ivan Barnes, as the party's sole representative in the legislature.
