The Border Management Authority has deported 673 Malawians and 202 Zimbabwean nationals today through the Beitbridge Port of Entry in Musina, Limpopo. A further 453 Malawian nationals were deported from the Lindela Holding Facility. BMA Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato commended officials for managing the large-scale operation efficiently and humanely. Officials also stopped two Zimbabwean nationals on the Visa and Entry Stop List and intercepted eleven undocumented immigrants attempting to enter South Africa illegally.
BMA spokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi says several over-stayers from Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Malawi were also processed and assisted to leave the country in line with immigration laws.
