IEC in W Cape expands capacity

The IEC in the Western Cape has added additional voting stations to expand its capacity ahead of the first voter registration weekend. Upgrades have also been made to voter management devices as the commission prepares for thousands of residents to register or update their details for local government elections. The IEC briefed the media in Cape Town on Friday morning. Concerns have been raised on accessibility following adverse weather in the province as well as ongoing gang violence.
