#NewsPunch | Indian Railways Approves Kavach 4.0 for 680 km on Northern Railway

#NewsPunch | Indian Railways has approved the deployment of Kavach Version 4.0, India's indigenous Automatic Train Protection system, across 680 km of the Rewari–Delhi and Shakur Basti–Bathinda sections of Northern Railway, including feeder branch lines.

Approved at a cost of ₹206 crore, the project is part of the phased nationwide expansion of Kavach to make train operations safer, more reliable, and technologically advanced. The system helps prevent SPAD (Signal Passed at Danger) incidents, enables automatic braking when required, and enhances safety during low-visibility conditions.
