SARS pledges smoother tax filing season

The 2025/2026 tax filing season kicks off on the 1st of July. SARS says it will conduct auto-assessments on around 6 million taxpayers between the 1st and 12th of July, while non-provisional taxpayers who haven't been assessed will be able to file their taxes from the 13th of July. The closing date for these non-provisional taxpayers will be October 23rd, 2026.
Provisional taxpayers and Trusts will have between July 22nd and January 22nd, 2027, to file their taxes.
