Court declares appointment of ANC EC PTT unlawful

The Makhanda High Court has declared the appointment of the ANC Eastern Cape's Provincial Task Team unlawful and unconstitutional. The ruling follows an application brought by ANC member Lwazi Rotya and others shortly after ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula announced the 40-member task team last month. The applicants argued that proper processes were not followed when the Provincial Task Team was appointed to replace the Provincial Executive Committee.
