Preserving World War 1 and 2 heroes' graves

War veterans say it's important to protect the graves of the men and women who paid the ultimate price with their lives during the First and Second World Wars to preserve the history of our country.

This, as the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Commemorates the fallen heroes.

The Commission's mission is to ensure that those who died in service or as a result of conflict are commemorated and remembered forever.

This year's War Graves Week took place at the Hamilton Cemetery in Bloemfontein.

The Cemetery has a total of 83 Commonwealth war graves, spanning World War 1 and 2.
