Organized Labour held a joint media briefing today to speak on a number of pressing issues that affects the working class.
Speaking at NEDLAC's headquarters in Johannesburg, COSATU, FEDUSA, SAFTU and NACTU spoke with one voice, raising concerns -- yet again -- about the stewardship of the Unemployment Insurance Fund and the Compensation Fund for occupational injury and diseases, which are there to intervene during times of difficulty for workers.
They also weighed in on a dominating theme in the country around the issue of migration, adding the African migrants should not be scapegoated for the country's wider socio-economic issues.
For more on the joint briefing, we speak to SAFTU General Secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi.
