'Stare at a wall': UK teens react to social media ban for under-16s #worldnow

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday announced plans to ban under-16s from social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook and X by spring 2027. The proposal, which would also tighten rules on gaming and live-streaming sites, has sparked mixed reactions. While one teen joked she'd have to "stare at a wall," others said the move could encourage young people to spend more time outdoors. Supporters say the challenge will be ensuring teenagers don't migrate to less regulated corners of the internet.
