PRASA Wage Talks | PRASA unions demand raise, accuse it of bad faith

Labour unions at the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa are demanding a 15% salary increase.

However, the first round of talks hit a snag when PRASA failed to table a counter-offer, instead requesting a three-week postponement to consult with executive management.

SATAWU and UNTU accuse the agency of acting in bad faith.

Talks were meant to begin in October.

Along with the wage hike, workers are demanding non-financial benefits, and a strict no-retrenchment clause.
